How was his life shaped?
Aaron Moses was born to a single mother Carolyn Moses in the United States.
Trying to do everything right since the beginning, she decided to be baptized, when she was pregnant with Aaron.
Aaron’s upbringing was one of discipline and faith. He grew up in the church, attending assemblies of God’s services his whole life.
He was taught to be disciplined and to work hard, values that have served him well in his career. It was also in the church that he first discovered his love of music.
Despite his family not being particularly musical, Aaron was drawn to the drums from a young age.
When he was only 2 years old, Aaron’s parents enrolled him in drum lessons, and he quickly fell in love with the instrument. However, as he got older, his interest in piano grew, and he began spending more time practicing the keys. Along with his best friend Nico, Aaron would wake up early in the morning before school to play the piano and even skip lunch to practice in the choir room.
In an interview, Moses shared that he initially went to Essex Community College in Newark, New Jersey to study criminology, hoping to become an FBI agent. However, he felt a calling to ministry and music, which ultimately changed the course of his life.
Moses grew up listening to the music of Eddie James and never thought he would have the opportunity to travel with him.
In high school, Aaron began to develop his other musical talents. He started singing and playing the keyboard, he didn’t even have the keyboard, so he had to go to his friend’s house to borrow their piano.
It was tough, but his love for music was fuel, and it was then that he was given the opportunity to travel with a ministry led by Eddie James.
For three and a half years, Aaron traveled the world, leading worship and making music with the ministry. It was an experience that would shape his future.
Aaron used to make videos on Instagram and Vine, showcasing his singing abilities.
He would regularly post 15-second videos of himself singing on his Instagram account, and it was through these videos that Dante discovered him. And they became good friends.
After leaving the ministry, Aaron was invited to a songwriting session by Dante.
The group wasn’t yet known as Maverick City, but they had a vision to create music that would reach people all over the world. It was a community of musicians who simply wanted to write and create music together.
And then, something incredible happened. God began to bless their work.
The music they were creating was touching people’s hearts and resonating with audiences all over the world. And before they knew it, Maverick City was born.
Today, Maverick City is one of the fastest-growing communities in the worship music scene.
Their music is everywhere, and it’s impossible to talk about the genre without mentioning them. It’s a remarkable achievement and one that Aaron and his friends never expected.
