After working over a decade in association with this well-known band, he disbanded and started his career as a solo artist on Six Steps Records and Sparrow Records labels in 2012. 

As a solo artist, Crowder released his first solo album with the name of ‘Neon Steeple”.

His father was Daniel Wallace Crowder, who was an insurance agent. Crowder also wanted to become an insurance agent, but during his graduation from Baylor University, he altered his mind and decided to become a singer and songwriter. 

The main reason Crowder landed in the music industry was the behavior of students at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. He noticed that over half of the students in university were not going to Church to worship God. This disappointed him, and he decided to recruit students for worship services and started to write songs to attract more young people to him. 

After the completion of his graduation, he became a founder of University Baptist Church and Pastor of worship. In his words, he learned a lot in Church, and his journey of becoming a singer was made possible when he started writing songs for a year.

Crowder started his solo career in 2012 on Six Steps Records and Sparrow Records labels. He earned a lot of fame and great success as a solo artist. On November 25, 2013, He released the first solo single off the album “I Am”. It got 3rd position on the Billboard Christian Songs chart. 

His songs were nominated for 16 GMA Dove Awards, but he won 3 out of 16.

  • Crowder’s first solo album Neon Steeple was released on May 27, 2014. And it won the Dove award for being The Recorded Music Packaging of the year. 
  • In 2017, his song “Run Devil Run” won the Dove award for being the Short Form Video of the year. 
  • In 2019, his song “Wildfire” won the Dove award for Contemporary Recorded song of the year.

Amazingly, Crowder didn’t face any controversy in his whole singing career. He has devoted his services to the worship of God and following Christianity. He has a firm belief in the Bible and God. His mission has been to share Gospel since his days at Baylor University.
