Buckle up, music lovers, because there’s a rising star in the industry and her name is DOE, a.k.a. Dominique Jones! With a voice as angelic as it is soulful, DOE is the refreshing breath of fresh air the music scene has been craving.
This multi-talented artist is set to take the world by storm with her incredible talent, authenticity, and undeniable musical gift that will leave a lasting impact on everyone who hears her sound.
She has a very fascinating story… Let’s take a deep dive into her life, the insecurities, the trust, the love, and everything that made her who she is today.
Where did it all start?
Born in Kalama, Washington, and raised in Louisiana, Jones was surrounded by talented vocalists and musicians in her family. Music was a part of her everyday life, and it wasn’t long before she discovered her passion for songwriting.
As a youngster, Jones was not pushed into music, but she had a desire for it.
Her family’s house was the gathering spot for family musicians, and they played every morning before prayer.
Songwriting was a natural part of her life, as she learned to sing what she wanted to say to the Lord in the moment. It was then that she realized she could write songs.
Jones and her biological family band met Jeffrey Benword, who saw them singing and helped them produce their first album.
They were later signed by EAME Gospel and went on to be nominated for two Grammys, four Doves, and five Stellars.
After a few years, the band members were ready to pursue their own individual paths. Jones felt it was time for her to go solo and see what she could do as a solo artist.
As a youth pastor in Louisiana, Jones felt conflicted about pursuing her music career or staying to help the children she loved.
She had to humble herself and follow her heart, knowing that it was time to pursue her passion.
Her pastor was supportive, and she knew it was time to go on tour solo. Despite concerns from others in the industry that she was too old, Jones waited for the right moment to release her first solo album.

Her journey toward stardom took an unexpected detour. While working as a youth pastor in Dallas, she continued to pursue her passion for music, meeting with record labels in between sermons and meetings.
But it was a collaboration with fellow gospel artist Jonathan McReynolds that truly put her on the map. Her featured spot on his hit track “Cycles” propelled her to the forefront of the industry, showcasing her undeniable talent and soulful vocals.
The song climbed the charts and reached the Top 20 on the gospel charts, earning her a nomination for Best Gospel Performance/Song at the 2019 Grammy Awards.
For DOE, it was a moment of validation and recognition for all the hard work she had put in over the years. “It was incredible to see people respond to the music and connect with it on a deeper level,” she recalls.
“It made me realize that this is what I was meant to do – to touch people’s lives through music.”
Her first album, a self-titled EP, has hit the shelves and features her hit single “Brighter” that’s been making waves across the music industry.
But what sets DOE’s album apart is the fact that she wrote all of the tracks herself, with a little help from her brothers Judah and Dewitt Jones, Jonathan McReynolds, and Dee Wilson.
The EP is a beautiful and eclectic mix of soulful melodies and rich vocals that blend together perfectly to create a unique and personal soundtrack of her life.
But for DOE, this album is more than just a collection of songs. It’s a vulnerable expression of her life experiences, and what God has taught her along the way.
And while the album is deeply spiritual, she wanted it to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their religious background.
“I feel this is where I am supposed to be,” DOE shares. “I’m going to take this journey hand-in-hand with everyone and it’s going to be a learning experience. I’m excited about that.”
DOE’s sound is unlike anything you’ve heard before. It’s raw, honest, and deeply personal. And with award-winning producer Daryl Howell at the helm, this EP is the perfect introduction to her sound.
DOE is excited to share her music with a broader audience and hopes to positively impact lives through the sound God has given her.
